"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." - Julius Henry "Groucho" Marx, Comedian and Film Star
I used to let conditions influence my happiness for a long time. For me this was normal, everyone around me was like that.
I learned how to change this with help of amazing Life Mastery programmes. Now, I CHOOSE my HAPPINESS.
You may feel this is not possible. Think about it – if conditions were to dictate how we feel, what are life is to be about, how are we to become, than all people who lived in same conditions would have the same results, behave the same way, feel the same. Yet we are all different.
Granted it may not feel easy at first. Like everything it takes a little time, patience and support to change our habit of letting conditions deeply influence us. First step is to notice this is happening, notice your feelings. Some of us get upset every time car overtakes us on the road. For others, all ships sink if we did not receive that eagerly waited phone call. Some of us get melancholic when day is grey.
Most of us believe that we cannot change our feelings. Yet biologically, feeling is a chemical response in our body to a thought we had. Often we are not aware of the thoughts that preceded a feeling. Yet, if we change a thought a feeling would change too. The best is to experiment with it and see how far it can get you. Ultimately it will lead you out of feeling hostage to your circumstance to freedom of your being.
It is not that we are not ultimately free, it is that we are not aware of it and consequently we do not experience evidence of it.
I challenge you to experiment with this and let me know your results.
Would love to hear your progress!
